Dave Jessep was never quite like other accountants. And back in 2006, he founded an accounting firm that was never quite like other accounting firms. We’ve always been a forwards-looking company, helping customers see where they’re going rather than giving them a backwards-looking summary of where they’ve already been.

Plus we won’t look at you sternly over the tops of our glasses if you’ve accidentally lost a receipt. We’re technology-minded, recommending new software and services that make business easier.

Meet the Team
Dave Jessep
Managing Director
Dave’s spent over 20 years in accounting and he still loves coming to work every day. He founded the company back in 2006, and his infectious enthusiasm has helped him build a company of talented staff who are excited to be part of DJCA.
As you’d expect, Dave is a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants. He’s also a Mentor with the Business Mentors of NZ program, and is especially skilled at advising clients from all kinds of industries in strategy, planning, goal setting, and implementing business structures.
Dave played hooker for Marlborough Boys’ College and won the Matthews Cup for Most Outstanding Player (ahead of Anton Oliver, who was maybe 14 at the time). He now enjoys running and biking with his kids.
Cameron Robertson
Associate Director
Cameron is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant and has been practicing in the accounting industry since 2010. A born and bred Cantabrian, Cameron studied at the University of Canterbury and now services our local clients for Sidekick Christchurch.
Cameron has worked alongside business owners in a wide range of industries, from investment properties, to trades to professionals. Cameron draws on his vast experience in the SME environment to ensure your business is on the right track.
Cameron is a big sports lover. Apart from being a huge Warriors fan he’s also a whiz at playing both rugby and cricket, and likes to dabble in golf, cycling, and rugby league.
Megan Cameron
Associate Director
Megan, originally from Otaki, is our Senior Manager and all-round accounting whizz. She has a Bachelor of Commerce in Administration, majoring in Accounting and Commercial Law, with a post graduate diploma in Professional Accountancy. An NZICA member and mentor, Megan heads our Blenheim-based firm, servicing the Tasman area.
Megan comes to us with 14 years experience in a large accounting firm in Wellington, specialising in Business Advisory Services. As a Senior Client Manager in this field, Megan has worked with hundreds of businesses from small business start ups to large national companies and retailers.
When she’s not helping our Sidekick clients, Megan loves spending time with her husband and two young boys. Megan moved to Blenheim in early 2015 to be closer to family and enjoys spending her free time cooking for them and relaxing together.
Ric Thorpe
National Sales Manager
Meet Ric, a trusty member of our team since 2010! Well, he actually spent 16 months between 2012-13 gaining experience in the media & design industry, but he’s now back with us, spreading the word of Sidekick across New Zealand.
As well as helping business owners take the steps towards the right systems and advice, you’ll also find Ric on the football field! He also enjoys spending his free time with his lovely wife and three gorgeous children.

Lisa Adamson
Associate Director
Our Practice Manager Lisa ensures that everything runs smoothly in the accounting team, as well as working with a range of clients. Lisa is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant, and studied at the University of Otago to gain a BCom majoring in Accounting and minoring in Tourism.
Lisa draws on experience attained through managing her partner’s building business, helping her to learn first hand what it’s like to run a small business.
A keen traveller, Lisa enjoys spending time planning her next overseas holiday, as well as relaxing with friends and visiting family in her home town Whakatane.
